I figured it would be better to have something else to show up when I apply for the schools than just watercolors, and since I found an unopened box of oil pastels in my closet I gave them a try. ...turns out I kind ofsuck at pastel painting. My fingers melted into the damn things because I gripped them too bad. :S
I'm not entirely displeased with this piece, though. I'll include it in my portfolio unless I get something better done in some other media.
-Edit- Hehee, a lot of people seem to get reminded of Watership Down by this piece. I guess I can see why. (That movie game me traumas as a kid. )

Love the colors! Reminds me of a youth novel I have called "A Taste for Rabbit" by Linda Zuckerman, this is like teh opposite of the cover in a way. Love the colors! Yeah oils pastels are tricky, I used them years ago, but prefer not to anymore because of how messy they are. I love the image though that's for sure! Great job on the composition!

The eyes of the (demon bunnies?) look great! I love the collision of yellow and orange there. Also the technique you used to define their details using the purple against black is very subtle. Love their ears!

I think this is quite nice and abstract, I don't see anything wrong with it <3

Ah, I simply love the 'split' in this. And props to you for using those oil pastels well. They're a bitch to use, I know. XD That's why I stick with the soft ones.

Oil pastels are great, but they're a media that doesn't please everyone. You can blend them well with mineral oil or mineral spirits, but it seems you already knew that.
I like this piece because it reminds me of the tough-guy rabbits in Watership Down.
